Decoupage

Hi Crafters

I am a terrible flitter and seem to go from craft to craft. As you can see from my posts I make cards, and boxes, stamping,  die cutting and painting to paper crafts. I also make flowers and leather brooches etc. In between I sew a little, and I have been known to knit, but not for a while.

Recently on You Tube I found the envelope wallets, (see "shabby chic folders "), and some of these had been finished with decoupage. I love the vintage look so wanted to give it a try.

The very pretty napkins are difficult to source in stores nowadays, but I found some on-line and had a few happy hours yesterday gluing and covering all sorts of things

More Leather Flowers

Hi Crafters

Thought today I would share with you a few more leather flowers I have made.

My crafting is getting geared toward Christmas Craft Fairs and I recently sold a few of my brooches and flowers at a Craft show in the Princess Theatre, Burnham on Sea, which was held with a coffee morning for McMillan nurses.

These are the more straight forward single flower style and I will  need to make more brooches and corsage style for the sales.

These will retail between £5 - £7

More Shabby Chic FOlders

Hi fellow crafters

Yesterday I posted a shabby chic folder
I thought I would upload more pictures showing other folders

This is a paper depicting clocks with subtle hues of colour. It comes from a large pack of My Minds Eye and is lighter weight paper, so very suitable for this. The charm is a clock with a bubble bee.

The folders make great storage for receipts, or store vouchers, correspondence invoices etc.

Shabby Chic Folders

Hi Crafters

Saw these on You Tube and had to have a go as they looked so cute.

I had some manilla envelopes in the cupboard and everything else was from my craft stash

I made these with scrapbook papers but some of the very pretty one I saw used serviettes and modge podge.

A 12 x 12 sheet covered one envelope
Cut a piece 22cm deep making sure any print is the right way up when you put it on the envelope
Cut this piece in 2 making 2 pieces 15cm x 22cm

Glue each piece to the front and back

With the remaining piece of paper cut a piece to cover the flap (use the envelope flap for a template), and glue down. Keep the remaining piece to make an additional tag

I have then used distress ink to age the sides and five the shabby chic look.
Decorating with brown tags and string plus a tag made from the matching paper and an embellishment that compliments the paper.

I love the results and hope to make some for the Christmas Craft Fairs.

This one has a fairy and flower paper so I have added a young girl bag embellishment to the tags attached to the back flap. While the front has some glitter added tot he fairy dress and flower centre.

Envelope Cards/Wallets

Hi Crafters

I have not posted for a week or so , but have been crafting in meantime so am going to share with you my new makes over the past couple of weeks

The first is an envelope card/wallet. Like a lot of ideas I saw this on You Tube. There are several posts regarding them and a couple explain how to make them.

The lovely part of this card is it can be used to give a voucher or cheque, (particularly useful for weddings as most couples are asking for money these days), and it present the gift of money or voucher in a pretty and thoughtful way.

This is the wedding envelope card. As you can see I have decorated the envelope edge with cotton lace and the centre with a silky flower and diamante. under the envelope flap is velcro to hold it down, but when you lift the flap there is a secret section to add the voucher or cheque.
This is the back of the card and in this sleeve is a piece of matching card, which is stamped on the back with the greeting, leaving lots of space to add your personal message to the recipient.

Here is one for a Birthday

Happy Crafting

Thinking Outside the Box 1

Hi Crafters

There is nothing I like better than getting a craft stash that someone else has finished with and sells off and I can then think of another use for the papers and card in the stash.

Today I had an EBay delivery and there were several packs of card and vellums with toppers and sticky ribbons, as well as 3d flowers and floral stickers. All in a Art Nouveau style.
The card stock was luxury metallic finish and there are matching vellums

As I unpacked the stash I was thinking of how I would use the items. I can of course make cards and it would take little to do this and produce a quality greeting card, which I will do with some cards, but the square cards gave me a piece of card 29cm by 15cm, as did the vellum inserts for them.

These I can make gift boxes which will be perfect for the festive season coming up. The card gift boxes are tied with ribbon and a vellum flower added from the kit completes the look.

The vellum boxes I have made a belly band for them put the 3D flower on the same,  and will add tea-lights for my craft sales.

This is the first idea from the stash, and I will follow up as I think of more.

I will also sell some of the cards and embellishments, where I have surplus to my needs, as a lot of the fun is in the ideas for the stash.
