Hello Again
As promised here is the other collection of flowers I made.
There are seven Kusadama flowers and a few small hand made roses.
All are made from pages from a music book and show bars of music on the petals. I think the book is music by Mendelson, and I purchased it from a charity shop.
The container for the flowers is an empty body lotion pot, covered in black card and with a label I downloaded from the internet.
More crafts next time. If you like what you see why not subscribe to my blog and/or leave feedback. Just click on the FOLLOW button at the top of the page.

New Flowers
Hi Crafters
Whilst working on a design for my next project, I have also been making flowers.
Back to basics but using recycled materials.
The first little posy I made included 2 Kusadama flowers made using the origami method of folding, and one hand cut rose. This is made by cutting 4 x 8 petals flowers and cutting 1 section out of the first piece, 2 from the second, 3 from the third and the last one in half.
All of the flowers are made from wallpaper. This is a great way of making a bouquet to match any of your rooms.
Here they are viewed from both sides.
I have put these onto kebab sticks, but in future I will make my own stems from pages of a magazine as they will be more flexible.
Tomorrow I will show you the flower display I made using book pages.

Workshop pictures
Hi Crafters
To all of you who came to the Craft Day on Saturday I hope your day was enjoyable and that you are home now using the techniques to make more cards for your stash, and now you have a folder to store all the lovely cards until you need them
The Concertina Files we made in the afternoon makes a perfect gift, and with notelets or cards ready for the recipient to use I am sure they will enjoy the gift and thought that went into it. It was lovely to see so many lovely bright Files on the table although I think there are a few missing.
The cards made using chalks are all so different it is lovely to see everyone's interpretation of the ways to stamp and chalk even when using the same stamps they look amazingly different.
Watercolours are lovely and soft and again lots of lovely different ideas on the table

I have spent Sunday putting away my stamps etc in the craft room and finishing the cards I started whilst demonstrating yesterday, so I have some new cards in my stash too.
Small Trinket Box
Hi Crafters
Yep another box
This one is a cute 3 section (look like drawers) box with flip lid
You make 3 boxes for the base and a cover to fold over. All sides of the cover are layered for added stability and then decorate the top
Once you have mastered the basic box making you can make this box any size, but it looks cute kept small.
I have really enjoyed making the collection of boxes,

I have really enjoyed making the collection of boxes,
I am going to fill the trays with chocolates. Or when I make Christmas boxes they could have small gifts in and will look lovely on the lower branches of the tree, or the bowers of greenery across a mantle. They would make excellent Teacher gifts with pretty paperclips and notelets in.

Box made with Envelope Maker
Hi Crafters
Another box today
This one is made using 4 envelopes the same size, made on my envelope maker.
I have the We Are Memory Keepers, Envelope Board and I simply cut 4 envelopes from 4 pieces of 6" x 6" card, from at First Edition pad. It was double sided so the flaps showed a lovely contrast

I also made a belly band so that if I wanted to put sweets or cookies in or anything wrapped in cellophane I could secure the top. This can be placed around the box until you need it.
A great way to use up those spare pages from your paper pad

Trinket Box No 2
Hi Crafters
Here is box No2 as promised in my last posting.
I really like these boxes and can see me making more especially for holiday celebrations.
I realise I did not show the inside yesterday
So here it is

I realise I did not show the inside yesterday
So here it is
This one has been made using up a First Edition Pad "Perfect Moments" With an owl charm
The top is finished with ribbon and a Santora Mirabelle charm, as I think this one will be for my great niece for Easter, with some trinkets in and mini eggs.
It uses 4 sheets of 12 x 12 as the top and bottom are layered for additional strength.
You could also line the inside of the lid.
Box No2 went together well although I did make an error at the beginning, so I probably need more practice.
However before making more of these I want to perfect another trinket box I have seen. So that will be a posting in the not too distant future.
But first I have to prepare for my Craft Day on Saturday.

Trinket Box No1
Hi Crafters
I love to browse YouTube for all types of crafts and see what makes are out there. Sometimes there are new ideas and sometimes some lovely reminders of past cards or boxes made.
My recent trawls have come up with some lovely trinket boxes. The one shown below, however, is completely my own design. I tried one on YouTube and did not like the way I had finished to sections inside so came up with this alternative. I am much happier with the finish on the sections and also it is much bigger than most demonstrated on YT, which for me is a bonus as it makes it more versatile.
The box is 24cm wide and 12.5cm deep 2cm high
Having made the basic box I wrote my measurements down and instructions ready to make the next one.
It was not long before I decided I needed to familiarise myself with workings of this box and make another from my instructions. So it will not be long before you see the next one I made, I just need to finish the decoration.
This one has been made with quite masculine travel card and the opener is a lighthouse charm
I thought it would be good for stationary items such as paperclips, post it notes etc.
Then I added the flowers which slightly changed the theme and I am now thinking it could be hair clips bows and ties etc, Jewellery or a goodie box with a mixture of sweets and chocolates. Or for Easter a mixture of present and small chocolate eggs.

Sympathy Card
Hi Crafters
Whilst making a couple of Sympathy cards recently I came across some examples of cards made using a Darice Embossing folder
I loved its simplicity and the quiet finish it gave to, what is a solemn occasion, and added it to my collection.
It needs so little added to the embossed sentiment.

The embossing folder is 14.5cm x 11cm, and this is a piece of card embossed and then cut to fit this 12 x 12 card, with a small black mount.
The ribbon is added whilst layering the card
I do like the clean look of the card, so although I am always sad to have to make this type of card I am pleased to add the embossing folder to my collection , as it makes the job very easy.

Cute Butterfly Boxes
Hi Crafters
A new die came a couple of days ago and I had to try it out.
It is not branded but as we are always on the look out for new items I saw it and had to have it.
This really is the simplest die to use
I have simply cut it out and folded on the scored line to make the box inner, gluing them to the sides
They wont hold much but if you were giving small mini Easter eggs or Jewellery they would make the perfect box .
As you can see i have simply added some silver cord to hang them up
Next I will try decorating the sides with more butterflies

MORE FOLDERS/MEMORY BOOKS
Hi Crafters
Well could not wait to make more albums. So got straight on with it
Well could not wait to make more albums. So got straight on with it
These great pocket pages were from Faithful Designs by Christy on YouTUbe, check out her mini album videos for more inspiration
These are just 3 pages from 10 that she show on one video. I particularly like the first one that gives you 2 tag sections that open up to reveal a full 6 x 6 page for a photograph and the one opposite that has corners to hold a large photo mat.
These make lovely mini albums that you can personalise to give as gifts or sell for your charity.
A great way of using up your stash
MEMORY BOOK/ALBUMS
Hi Crafters
Following on from my post on 1st February showing a Folder/Memory Book, I was sorting through some new paper pads and thought they would be perfect to make more albums .
I started with a similar style and size and made some photo mats to go inside.
It took little time to put together so I then made a smaller version with a diagonal panel to hold the photo mats. I used 3 sheets of 12 x 12, which made a finished album with 6 sections
Then full of enthusiasm for these little albums I looked up mini albums on YouTube and found some other folds that would add a new look to the pages
I want to try them out, and will post them soon when I have finished them
These will all be available for sale on EBay as I am running out of space in the craft room, but I have had great fun making them.

Sympathy Card
Hi Crafters
Unfortunately every now and then you are called upon to make a sympathy card. And this week one was needed as a neighbour has died.
I have seen some lovely soft cards on Pinterest and decided on the following style
This is a simple stamped card, lifted by the oval of words in the background.
You can achieve this effect by making a circle or oval template and stamping your words over the template
Then add your flower and With Sympathy greeting
Layer onto black background card.
The stamped area was A6 size of card, the background black card 11cm x 15.5 and this was set onto a card 5" x 7"
I have added an insert sheet to this card with a message in keeping.
This stamping style could be used with colour for other occasions and I may well consider this in a slightly different format
