Neat little Journal from 8 x 8 papers

Hi Crafters

Part 3 of using up your paper stash.
And this week is all about 8 x 8 papers.
I have really enjoyed designing a couple of items for this second part, although I am beginning to run out of 8 x 8 papers.

This little project is a quick and simple journal. Journals are very popular at the moment, but I love notebooks, so only  make small journals probably for a particular period in time. For example I made one for lockdown, where I kept notes about Hair problems, Progress of the lockdown and lightening of it, Weight ( a constant battle during these 18 weeks), visiting and outings missed etc.
Here is a very simple Journal that you could make for someone going on holiday or even make as a Bridesmaid's Journal.

Simply take 6 sheets of 8 x 8 and fold in half. If you have some prints you do not like as much make these the blank pages for writing on and fold these pages with the print outside. The prints you like fold with the print inside, Then glue one page on top of the other. For the outside take a pretty peice of heavier 8 x 8 and cut in half and glue to the front and back lining up the sheet to the outside edge then use either use binding tape or a strip of paper from your scrap box This needs to be 8" high and approximately 1&3/4" wide. Glue to the front lining it up with the top and bottom and keeping it as straight as possible,  glue down, fold over the edge of the book and and glue down the back side of the book, do not place glue in the middle where it covers the spine.  All that remains is to decide the closure, I made a matching bellyband but you could use elastic or ribbon closure.
NB If you do not have any heavier papers, simply cover some card with your papers before adding to the journal.

I have made a matching bellyband but you can use elastic cord, or ribbon to hold it closed
Decorate the inside with some embellishment and if you want photo mats, I have just stuck in some journalling stickers for each day of the week.

This leaves lots of room to add photographs Journal notes and Tags

This is a lovely quick project. Hope you enjoy it. Back soon with the last of the 8 x 8 projects
