February Favourite Card Makes 4

Favourite Card Makes No4

Pop Up and Twist Card

Today I want to share with you a great card that I learnt to make last year. It would seem I was a little behind as the many tutorials on YouTube show that these were being made 4=5 years ago. They no doubt will be a winner for a long time to come.

Whilst not too difficult to make this post will be a bit of a cheat as I feel you will be able to enjoy making this more if you are able to follow a tutorial on video, I am adding a link to the page for a great video by Teri Pocock that talks you through the process.

Just so you know I have made this card, and to give you some other ideas on finishes for the design here are some I have made.

The Top left is my favourite finish. For this one I used soem papers from DCWV and added the twist mechanism to plain card stock base. Then used cream card base for the pop and twist and to line the bottom of the card so you can write your message. The rest of the card is lined with the pretty papers

The navy card next to it I made for a more masculine card and I love the lining to the top half, that shows a lighthouse and sea. This was made by placing blue wavy patterned paper in the background and then cutting a panel of dark blue card, and with this I have used a die that cuts out the circle and lighthouse shape as well as waves for the sea, and places it over the wavy blue paper

This card really needs a piece of white card lining the bottom half which will not only allow the message to be added but also make the top panel to show up more.

The bottom two cards were also made from DCWV papers. An old paper pad from my stash I think this had Paris in the name of the pad, and featured flowers and Paris scenes, as you can see from the inside of the cards

The one on the left of this picture is slightly disproportionate and although the twist and pop works when you open the card the card does not stay open well as the weight is wrong in the pop-out. While the one on the right is correct proportions,

I had forgotten how much I like these cards and think it is time I had another go with some of my new papers, when I do I will be sure to show them to you.

Dee
