Isolation Journal Day 1
Hi Crafters
So! yesterday I said we were going to make a journal/album to log your journey through isolation.
I am going to use the most simple method of making a scrapbook so that anyone not familiar with binding or book making will be able to follow and join in, as the idea is to keep the memory of the journey not so much about the techniques of making the book.
To make the book you will need:
6 envelopes and 6 sheets of A4 coordinating paper or
10 sheets of 12 x 12 papers and an envelope maker
Pritt Stick or other quality wet glue
Heavy duty double sided tape
Cereal box
Todays crafting starts with selecting your papers or envelopes
If you are going to use envelopes your day is complete although you may wish to gather up your tools and materials ready for tomorrow
If you want to make your book using your stash choose papers with a small pattern or no pattern that coordinate. I have made a couple of different books during the process and have used K & Co papers for one and a Recollections pad for the other 2
I will be giving instructions and photos using the Recollections papers.
- First cut the papers down to 10" squares
- Take out your envelope maker and place on the 4.5" mark for the first scoring line and mark your eenvelope up ( I am assuming anyone who has an envelope maker knows how to use it) the finished envelopes with this scoring measurement come out at 6" x 7". Using the 7" as width for the envelope I have also rounded the flap top and bottom
- Fold in the sides and glue the edges with your pritt stick. FOld up the bottom and put your bonefolder over the envelope to secure the glue and mark the edges
That is all we are doing today
Back tomorrow to put the envelopes together
